Joy to the World
04:26
|
|||
Joy to the world, the Lord is come.
Let earth receive her King.
Joy to the world, our God has come.
Let every heart prepare him room,
And heaven and nature sing.
Joy to the earth, the saviour reigns.
Let men their songs employ.
Joy to the earth, our saviour reigns.
While fields and floods, and hills and plains,
Repeat the sound, repeat the sounding joy.
No more let sins and sorrows grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground.
He comes to make his blessings flow,
Far as the curse is found.
He rules the world with truth and grace,
And even nations prove the glories of his righteousness,
And wonders of his love.

A Spotless Rose
04:10
|
|||
A spotless rose is growing,
Spun from a tender root;
Of ancient seers foreshowing,
Of Jesse, promised fruit.
Its fairest bud unfolds to light,
Amid the cold, cold winter;
To bear us all aright.
The rose which I am singing,
Whereof Isaiah said,
Is from this cold root springing,
The sweetest fragrance spread
Through our God's great love and might,
Through blessed babe, and mother,
In a cold, cold winter's night.

The Herald Angels
04:29
|
|||
Hark - the herald-angels sing:
"Glory to the new-born King,
Peace on earth and mercy wild,
God and sinners reconciled."
Joyful all you nations, rise,
Join the triumph of the skies.
Universal nature say:
"Christ the Lord is born today."
Hark, the herald-angels sing
"Glory to the new-born King".
As the herald-angels sing...
Christ, by highest heaven adored.
Christ, the everlasting Lord.
Late in time, behold him come -
Offspring of a virgin's womb.
Home in flesh, the God-head see;
Hail the incarnate deity!
Pleased, as man, with man, to dwell;
Jesus: our "Emmanuel".
Hail the heavenly prince of peace;
Hail the sun of righteousness.
Light and life to all, he brings.
Nothing stops what he begins.
God, he lays his glory by;
Born that man no more may die.
Born to raise the sons of Earth;
Born to give them second birth.

Epiphany
03:31
|
|||
Gold that bodies power abroad,
Kings who live and die by a sword
He who wins by dying gives
A treasure no man can hoard.
Frankincense is deity nigh,
Fragrant spirit, holiest high.
Bowing here to rags and filth,
And God in a baby's cry.
Myrrh is mind, its bitter perfume
Shows to us the gathering gloom
Suffering, sighing, bleeding, dying,
Sealed in a stone-cold tomb.
Glorious now, behold him arise,
King and God and sacrifice,
All abuse and theft rebuked
By God in a baby's cry.
